There were only two rounds of interviews (they basically skipped the initial HR call).
The first round went smoothly. Everyone was respectful and professional during the interview. Since I live outside of Arizona, they offered me the option to do the second-round interview remotely.
A couple of days later, the hiring team reached out to let me know that the HR team had originally posted the role as virtual, but they wanted to clarify that it was actually an in-person position. I replied to confirm that I understood it would be on-site and asked whether the salary was negotiable, especially considering the relocation. No response.
A few days later, I received an invitation for an on-site second-round interview. I asked if we could do a remote interview as we had previously discussed. No response again.
Two days later, I received an updated remote interview invitation with no explanation in it.
I also prepared a PowerPoint for the second round since I wouldn’t be able to attend in person and sent it to them. No response.
Then I received a reminder about the interview from HR the day before. I followed up to ask if they had received my slides, still no response.
They were like an AI, just sending out automated emails to let me know what steps would happen next, without addressing any of my questions throughout the process.
Also, HR kept emailing me outside of their working hours, which made me wonder about the school’s work-life balance.
