I loved talking to the higher ups in the department. I really thought we hit it off, but I'm also pragmatic enough to know things don't always work out. The rejection could have been mildly disappointing but they mentioned (in passing) that 'other applicants were significantly younger than you.' Makes me think non traditional candidates and females with children might not find an entry level place here.
