J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Argos (Nottingham, Angleterre)
Entretien
I had a group interview (which the majority of the group didn't know about). Firstly, we had to get into pairs and learn about each other then introduce your pair to the rest of the group from memory. We then were put into groups of about 4 and had to create an 'Argos Superhero' then present it back to the group. We had another task to do after in which we were placed into a different group of 4, we had to research about a given product by using the tablets in the store (fairly easy tbh) and then present back to the class.
I think the key thing to get this job if doing a group interview is to speak during the presentation. It was the one thing I didn't do because my group peers wouldn't give me the chance to say anything which I find slightly annoying. However, I did input a lot whilst planning and researching. The people who did the interview were normal workers at Argos and only judged your skills during the presentation and didn't observe us whilst planning (the most essential part where your teamwork skills show), I honestly think it's a bad way to judge whether someone has what it takes for the role.
We were told that the group interview was the only stage and we'd know if we have the job within a couple of days. I would've expected an individual interview as well so the workers could actually get to know you and see what you're like.
Unfortunately, I didn't get the job, I think the reason being I didn't say anything during the presentation. Be careful you're not in a group with someone who loves the sound of their own voice too much and won't give others a chance to speak :)) Also, make sure you say something in the presentation even if it's just a couple of words, it might strengthen your chance of getting the job.
The Argos interview was structured and professional, with competency-based questions and a clear focus on customer service. The interviewer was friendly and calm, making the process feel fair, organised, supportive. Overall it was a standard retail interview about experience and availability
