      The single worst interview I have ever participated in. I got a phone call from the recruiter, whom was very pleasant and nice, saying that they wanted to bring me in for an interview. I found that odd because every single management position I've applied for has had a screening process with at least an HR person and usually the hiring manager and/or Director of the department. That did not happen. They just said they wanted to bring me in. I was told I was going to interview with the HR VP and the Director of the department I would be working in. I had already had some concerns about the company because of the things that were written in Glassdoor by the employees, but I also do understand that even the best of companies have disgruntled employees. As a result I went in with an open mind and wanted to address this at the interview just to allay my fears and hope they weren't true. It took me about 2 seconds inside the complex to understand there were some very unhappy people here. People were looking down, not smiling, and especially not friendly in the least bit. Still, I kept an open mind. Maybe this position was one where they needed new blood to help change he culture. I was very open to that kind of position if that were the case. I love those types of jobs where there's a serious attempt to change the attitude. I'm all about achieving something very cool like that. Well....unfortunately that was dashed about a half hour later. I did meet with the HR VP for about a half hour, but did not get to meet the Director. I was told he was busy in a meeting. Regardless of what the reasoning is. Maybe they didn't like me. That's plausible. I had hoped that wasn't the case, as I believe they had good reactions to my answers. At the end of the interview, they shook my hand and told me they'll be in contact. I was confused. Was there going to be a meeting with the Director? Apparently NO! How weird was that? They bring me in, tell me I'm going to meet with the Director, but then herd me out the door. Now, again, if I was THAT bad, then I'll take that, but be honest with me. I'm a hiring manager and even if the interviews bomb, I still go through with the process because you have to respect the process. There is no process here. I guess I never had a chance. Back to the attitude inside the complex. I was told to wait in the break room which was around the corner from the filthy dirty entrance to the building. The break room was dingy and dirty. Everyone was eating with their head down and NOBODY came up to introduce themselves to me. It was obvious why I was there. I was the only one with a suit! Not only was the break room not clean or maintained but it was obvious those folks did not want to be there. As I was pulling out of the parking area, a couple of cars cut me off going into the complex and did not allow me to come out despite the fact I was halfway out of my stall. Rude people!! Finally, I had decided at that time I did not want to proceed any further. I sent a gracious letter to the Recruiter and said explicitly that I had appreciated their time and hospitality, but that I felt the position and the company was not a good fit for me and wished them luck in their pursuit. I received no response whatsoever. I've been on interviews where it became obvious to me that it was not a good fit and I've sent the same type of e-mail back and ALWAYS I had received an e-mail back. That tells me a lot about the professionalism and attitude of this place. Simply terrible. I had to tell everyone I know about this experience. It was weird, to be kind. Unprofessional is more accurate. If you are a serious candidate, this is not a place to be a manager. If you are desperate, go for it. Otherwise, count your blessings!!
