J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Ares Direct (San Jose, CA) en sept. 2017

      Entretien

It was a very short first round interview. A few questions about yourself and what you know about the company just to see if you can talk. The second round of interview was a little bit weird. It was about an hour long and basically their account director took me out to a coffee run.

This isn't a "scam" as everyone is saying... but what it is is an MLM or pyramid scheme. Technically a legit company, just know what you're getting into. They target young grads knowing how hard the job search actually is. You get your interview pretty much immediately because they'll call anyone in. They check if you have a car and are local multiple times because it is in fact a door to door job. Sounds too good to be true? It probably is. Sure you can make some money and yes it will be hard work because it's all commissions based. When employees on here say it's long hours... they mean 7 am - 7 pm. That's not the start up life. They're taking advantage of employees who will burn out. Look up entry level job scams online and you'll see hundreds of stories just like this. The company will talk more about themselves than you. They'll have to brag to seem legit. They'll promise you fast growth to management (aka people under you so the pyramid gets bigger and the guy who hired you gets richer). The second interview getting in someone's car? Since when is that a normal practice? They should want to make you feel safe. Go with your gut on this one. The site has no concrete info other than bait for recent grads. They emailed me at 3 am with a generic bot response calling me in for an interview. Listen to the interview reviews - I didn't want to believe it either, I wanted to believe someone was impressed by my resume!

The whole interview lasted around 20 minutes. The hiring manager was nice and direct. He picked the government assistant program to explain the company's client portfolio. Then moved on to the roles and duties of the position. Since I came from an event planning background, the manager explained the challenges about the position. I asked a lot of questions about the purpose of the program and where the program was heading. The manager was very knowledgeable about the topic. And he was direct and honest about the pros and cons of the business model. And he advised me to take some time to think it over. I appreciate the fact that the manager talked to me eye to eye level.
