The interview process was intense for the level of the role - interviews with 4 different people, a cognitive assessment, a take-home assignment, and a case study during one of the talks. Interviews: They ask your standard questions but overall, they lacked the feeling of a personal connection. The first interview was with one person from the team, the second one was a panel at first - interviewed with another team member and the manager I would be reporting to, and the third was supposed to be with a member of the leadership team. I gathered that at the end of my panel interview, they did care for me so it ended rather abruptly and I did not meet with the last person. Cognitive Assessment: You get 12 minutes to answer 50 questions. You are not expected to answer all. These are SAT type questions revolving around logic, reasoning, etc. Take-Home Assignment: Create a presentation branded to ASG guidelines that you would pitch to a prospective client at Archetype. They provide instruction as to what is expected and you base it off of something you have previously worked on. Expected to take no more than 2-4 hours of your time and you submit it prior to your second round of interviews. Case Study: During the panel interview they described something similar to a current project they are working on. You get 10 minutes to brainstorm and develop a marketing plan and present your ideas. They ask any questions they have. I understand the purpose of this but I found it difficult because you do not have much background information and developing a strategic marketing plan usually includes a small team that works collaboratively. Based on my experience, the company culture did not seem warm and fuzzy or that it provides much of a work/life balance. The interviews were cold/dry and very structured. The lack of personal connection could be due to adjusting to the new life of interviewing via zoom, but I do not think that is the only reason. Ultimately, I did not get an offer and I am not sure I would have accepted it even if I had.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on your interview experience with us. We strive for a structured interview process that allows us to evaluate all candidates fairly and reduce bias in the hiring process. It seems that you weren’t able to get a good sense of our culture, so we’ll give some thought to how we can infuse our process with a bit more Archetype Crew spark. One of our core values is “Design with empathy” which we apply equally to our clients, current team members, and prospective team members; it’s important to us to design a hiring process that both allows our team to fairly evaluate candidates, as well as for each candidate to get a great introduction to our company, so we appreciate your feedback.
