      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez Aptiv (Boston, MA) en juil. 2020

      Entretien

This interview was for the newly formed company 'Motional.' The first round was with the Director and it went very smoothly. Then I was invited for a video call for 4-5 hr 1 on 1 interviews with about 6 people. I have had video call interviews before, never ever there was so much unprofessional presentation of the company and the team. When I give my time as a candidate, I expect the same respect and presence from the interviewer which was not present. One guy was interviewing from the porch, enjoying the sun. The other was more interested in my past work experience - if I was working with one of the OEM's directly or via a consultancy, which was no ways related to the scope of assessing my skills. I applied for a Manager position not in a software development position but I was presented a code to find defects. If a Manager has to review code, then I doubt at the SW Engineers skills the company is hiring. The candidates who interviewed me had no experience in interviewing, they totally missed out the goal and tried to find things which I can't do better. The goal should be really to see how well you fit in the organization and what are you good at, but the immature people with zero leadership skills totally took it as an authority to find faults in the candidate. What a shame. Lastly, after spending hours and answering questions, 5 out of 6 people left me with no time to ask questions for them. When I give an interview I see it as an interview for both the people who are interviewing me and myself. Unfortunately, it was only a one way road here. If you are looking for a collaborative work space and challenges - this is not the place. If you are looking for colleagues who downgrade you, show what you are not good at , then you will fit here well. Not just the interview panel, even the HR representative was not coordinated. a) If you are giving me a bad news, I don't want you to schedule a call with me, just send me a rejection note. b) You don't have to wish me 'Happy Friday' Have a good weekend etc to schedule a call to deliver me a bad news that I am rejected. The complete process was an eye opener and really taught me a lesson what to look for in a company and a team when you are looking for your next job.
