Interview process was inconsistent and ultimately disappointing. After initially being passed on due to a specific experience requirement, I was later contacted by recruiting and encouraged to move forward based on my broader background in a certain area. The first interview panel was professional and engaging, but the experience changed significantly during the interview with senior HR leadership.
The interviewer came across as dismissive and disengaged throughout the conversation, often asking follow-up questions that had already been answered moments earlier. The interaction felt less like a genuine discussion and more like a predetermined outcome. At the end of the interview, I was told that a non-negotiable requirement was extensive experience in one specific platform. The same requirement that had already been known prior to scheduling multiple rounds of interviews.
I fully respect companies having specific requirements for a role, but candidates also deserve transparency and professionalism throughout the process. If a hiring decision has effectively already been made based on one requirement, it would be more respectful to communicate that upfront rather than moving candidates through interviews that appear performative.
