      Entretien pour Software Engineer

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Applied Intuition (Tokyo) en déc. 2020

      Entretien

Started off by getting a presentation of the company and the background of the interviewer. After that I was asked to present myself. I did than and then we went on diving a little deeper in my experience. At a certain point the interviewer inform me that we are late for the coding part and that we have only 15 minutes, so he wants to move on to that part. That's where things went south. I got presented with a fairly easy problem. I took some time to talk about the solution and I got rushed to write the code. I tried explaining why I did something while writing I was basically ignored by the interviewer, and halfway through my implementation the interviewer told me that I should finish it in a couple minutes, but that he understood the approach and it was actually fine for him. I tried finish it but the interviewer just cut me telling me "Well, I have to go now, if you want to finish the implementation by yourself it's ok, but you don't need to." and closed the communication after we said our farewells . I completed the algorithm and tested it out because I like to see stuff completed. One day later I got a call with the recruiter that told me that the interviewer reported that my software engineering skills were not good enough and that my code was not really maintainable or debuggable without providing any additional information. I didn't complain because I know how this stuff goes and basically I wouldn't get extra info out of it, but I think this was a very unprofessional way of handling the interview.

      Question 1

Pretty easy 2D matrix leetcode-like question. (I don't think I can say more than this)

      Entretien

The process started with a behavioral recruiter screen focused on my background, interest in the company, and general fit for the role. After that, I had a technical interview on CoderPad involving reading data from an API and working with nested JSON. The problem started straightforward and then added follow-up requirements, including finding the maximum velocity and maximum range from the returned data.

      Entretien

The entire process took about 3 weeks. I am a new-grad. - Recruiter Call - 45-minute technical screen - 3-hour virtual onsite (first 30 minutes is group introduction, followed by three 45-minute coding rounds) - 45-minute hiring manager interview

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

1 leetcode medium/hard question in each 45-minute coding rounds with follow-up. The hiring manager round is very weird and I was asked what I liked and don’t like about each internship.

      Entretien

Recruiter screening lasted around 30 minutes, followed by a C++ coding interview. The coding round was challenging, and I could not fully complete the problem. Did not move forward afterward.
