It was a multi-part process. First a phone call with one of their internal recruiters. After that, I was sent a link to do a video interview where I was to read the questions and record the answers and send to back. After about two weeks, I was called in for an interview with the department manager. Two weeks later I was invited back to interview yet again with more members of the proposal team. I met with two people on separate interviews, one of which seemed to specifically dwell on the fact that "despite my impressive background" I did not have the experience in working with a "firm as large as AON." They asked this question on four separate occasions in a span of 40 minutes. The interview wrapped and I did not hear from anyone at AON for three weeks only to be told they decided to move forward with other candidates. This is strictly my opinion, but I feel that they were hung up on the fact that I had not worked with a company as "big" as they are and not at the rest of my qualifications. If this is the case, then this is something they should have taken into consideration on the phone interview and not wasted my time - or theirs - with a video interview and then two additional interviews.
