      Entretien

      I was contacted by the recruiter that my CV was shortlisted and would like to set an interview. I have been interviewed 2 times, 1st HR screening, 2nd technical skills. Both interview went very well, people were very friendly and professional. From the interviews I understood better the company and the role. I'm sure that in the future I would like to work for such a company and have such bright colleagues.

      Sloppy and lengthy hiring process. I was approached by an external recruiter and had a phone screening for the Junior Market Development Manager role in early February. I was asked why I wanted to leave my job, and I said that, actually, I wasn’t actively looking for jobs because I was happy and had a great relationship with my team and my manager. However, I was open for new opportunities, and I felt that a role in ANTE could be a great next step in my career. After the phone screening, I went through four interviews with ANTE team members, one per week, where I was asked behavioural and role-related questions. They’re all very friendly, and the interviews felt conversational. The red flags I ignored: The first interview was rescheduled once. The second interview was rescheduled twice. I wasn’t invited for an onsite interview, which seemed a bit cold and distant. A month after the beginning of the process, I got a call saying that I was approved. Two weeks later, another call from the external recruiter to say that they wouldn’t be able to hire me because I don’t have Irish or European Citizenship. From ANTE, I got the silent treatment. Did they need 4-5 interviews to reach to this conclusion? I don’t understand why this requirement wasn’t flagged at the very beginning of the hiring process and what is the issue with my stamp 4 as I’m legally allowed to work full-time in Ireland. I don’t need an employment permit or sponsorship. I have worked for two companies under this visa so far. I don’t believe that this is the real reason behind their decision. I was also told that “we are by far not close to perfect and do make mistakes when we are a growth startup”. Being a startup is not an acceptable excuse for being unprofessional. They shouldn't treat people as if they’re disposable. Please advise the HR to be thoughtful when dealing with people’s future. Don’t play with people’s future.

      Dear Candidate, We understand your disappointment and emotions. However, we would like to mention that the recruitment process can take longer and we inform about it both agencies and candidates in order to set right expectations and share feedback results. We always send the employment offer once the Hiring Committee makes a decision. In this case, we can surely say that we haven’t sent the written offer and haven’t shared even verbally that we will be giving offer. And the recruitment agency also said that they never communicate unless they received official confirmation form us. We understand that some candidates can be very excited as we are during the recruitment process. And we also hope that candidates will wait until receiving the official employment offer letter and then decide their further step. We value people not only in our company, but everywhere, because people are the main asset of the life in this world and main contributors of today and tomorrow. We wish you the best in your career.
