      Entretien

First step was a phone/video screen with HR. We discussed the position and my resume / qualifications. I was told the next step would be an assessment and received a link later that day. It is a KF assessment. It consists of a worded Math section with 20 questions based on information in tables, a verbal section with 3-4 paragraph excerpts and 20 questions, and 3 behavioral sections consisting of 29, 11, and 45 questions. It is mostly multiple choice in the verbal section but for the math section it is open ended with answers being selected from drop-downs. You are given generally give 60 - 75 seconds to answer each question. You can find a practice exam online. I found the test to be very difficult. There simply was not enough time given to read and answer the questions on most problems. After practicing for several hours I moved on to the real test. The math and verbal section each took 20 minutes. Again I found it very difficult. I was told it was like the SAT's. It is not comparable to that. I scored over 1450 on the SAT's back in high school but did not feel like the test assessed my overall intellectual ability, but rather how quickly I could solve a poorly word problem based on a table of information. I guess at ATD you have 60 seconds in meetings to make a relatively simple but tricky calculation and need to spit out the answer to management or else you are toast. I moved on to the behavioral section of the test where it listed the estimated time of 45 minutes to complete. In this section you rank between 4 and 7 statements in a certain order based on a prompt. It ended up taking me 2 hours to complete. Overall I spent at least 3-4 hours practicing and taking these exams. It took way too long and too much of my time. I was extremely put off by this process. It immediately gave me a sense of distrust between employer and employee / candidate. I wonder if all employees at ATD have to go through this exam, even if they are already employed by ATD.
