      Entretien

After you apply, you will receive an assessment to complete. If successful, you will be invited to a virtual group interview. I had to reschedule mine because I was traveling, and they gave me another date no questions asked. In the virtual interview there were many candidates and 4 recruiters. First, we introduced ourselves and then they started asking questions to each one of us. They were STAR method type of questions. Always smile! And even though my mic was off, I smiled and nodded to others while they talk. At the end, they tell you you will receive an email from 7-10 days. I received mine on the 8th day after the interview. They invited me to a face-to-face interview in Dallas, Tx. You have to confirm the date or reschedule if needed. You can choose to fly the day prior to the interview or the same day. If you choose to go the day prior, you must reserve your own hotel at your own expenses. If you fly the same day, they provide transportation to and from the airport. The day of the interview: Arrive early. Get to know the other candidates that will be spending the day with you. The recruiters are super friendly, I know you are nervous but don't forget to be polite. They will check all the documentation they required and if they are OK you will proceed with the interview. The first activity is a group activity where I personally had a lot of fun and enjoyed and laughed a lot. It is a fun activity so enjoy and forget for a while your nerves. They want to know how you interact with others and participate and if you are having fun, its better! After that activity one recruiter will be assigned to groups and the questions will start. Again, star method questions. After the first round of questions, there's a small break. Be careful because you are always being watched! Second round of questions and then the recruiters will leave, and they showed us a company presentation. After that, we were called in groups. I read here before my interview that the first group that was called was sent home. Well I was called in the first group and you can imagine how I felt, but guess what? We were sent to the reach and jumpseat test, so that is not like that anymore! I was so sad while walking down the aile thinking I was being dismissed and then that happened. After that, they sent us to an office, and I was the first of the group to be called to another office. It was the actual face to face. The girl was so nice we went talking all the way to the office. I was asked more questions there and then she asked me, do you really want to work for American Airlines? and I say yes, I really want to. She replied: OK, YOU ARE HIRED. At that point after almost crying thinking my interview was over, I couldn't believe what was happening. Everything went really fast after that. I made lots of paperwork and did the fingerprints and the drug test. One of the recruiters thanked me for showing up so professionally dressed and well groomed. She told me they love that. My secret: Smile the whole time. Sincerely enjoy the process. We are all nervous but don't let that feeling affect the way you interact with others or interfere on how you show yourself, be radiant. It's not an easy interview. Knowing the star method and talking in a super professionally way WONT guarantee you the job. This was my second attempt with them, and what I did different this time besides knowing what to answer and how to answer was enjoying the interview and being happy the whole time. Be friendly with everyone and smile. There was a guy in my table, he had a management job, he was so smart and talked so well, super professional, super neat. He wasn't offered the job. He was very serious while answering questions, even though his answers were great! So, it's a little bit of everything. Always be aware of your face! And good luck!!!!
