A partner manager from AWS referred me to the hiring manager. I had the first interview with him and it went well, but the second was with a peer. A very unprofessional person who worked in my current company and all the time was asking me about who were my friends at current company. He said that was a good fit for the position. The next day I received an email from recruiters saying that they decided to move forward with another candidate. I'll find out some months later that the person who filled the position was a friend of the second interviewer.
