1. I applied online 9pm one evening and recruiter called me 10am next day. We chit chatted for a bit about my work experience, goals and "why amazon". Went in depth about the role and suggested I could be a good fit. I decided to move fwd with the process.
2. Online screen - Exam that tests you on both behavioral skills and wide range of tech knowledge. All tech questions are surface level . You are scored in colors - red, yellow, green. Red - you're out, Yellow - 1:1 phone interview then loop, Green - Straight to the loop. I received yellow.
Next round prep: I took the time now to learn the LPs and study all the tech questions I found here on glassdoor.
3. 1:1 tech interview - I did a phone screen with a NYer SA and she drilled down my resume. It was more like a conversation because all the tech questions were related to my strengths. There were a few behavioral questions that were snuck in. 2 hrs later, recruiter called me and told me I was going to the loop.
Next round prep: Learned the LPs thoroughly and attached 3 work experiences (in STAR) to each one in a xls. Memorized them. Practiced whiteboarding and architectural design.. Note I did both everyday for a decade before this but not as quickly as needed for a interview. I practiced on speed AND clarity. THIS IS IMPORTANT. Was also assigned to do a presentation ppt presenting past client engagement.. Must be at least 6 slides, max 20 slides.
4. The loop - 5 interviews , 1 presentation - Out of the 5 - 4 were behavioral interviews with "tell me a time about.." questions. I was prepared with real life experience and could go in deep depth with my answers. NOTE - do not lie or introduce something that you cannot go deep in. They dig deep into each answer and ask for more and more detail. The tech interview, I had to whiteboard 1 infrastructure architecture based on the interviewers requirements and then we dug deep into it. HA, DR, points of failure, how to scale, etc. Out of the panel, the bar raiser was the best interview to me. She made me really think and go deeeeeppppp in my experience to answer questions. It was interesting. I really enjoyed our conversation.
5. I got an offer 3 days later.
Key points : 1) Study the tech questions on glassdoor 2) Know the LPs 3) Attach your experience to the LPs 4) Be honest and genuine. Good luck.

You do 4 back to back interview in 1 day. It was exhausting. Besides that really appreciated the recruiter giving out interview prep before it takes place. The good thing is there is no coding round.
