This process is completely robotic. I wouldn't reccomend anyone putting themselves through this. There was a phone screen with a recruiter. This was the most enjoyable part of the process as I felt the recruiter actually wanted to get to know me. It was conversational and genuine. Then, I had a phone call with an account manager in the LA office. And then a call with account manager in the NYC office. Each of those interviews consisted of strictly behavioral questions. "Tell me about a time when..." And you would hear typing the entire time as they wrote every word you said. After both of these calls, I had no idea whether I was going to be pushed along to the next round. And finally, an onsite interview that lasted 6 hours. When I arrived, I was taken past a security revolving door, then placed in a conference room that could seat 15 people. I was not shown the office. I was quarantined to this conference room for the entire day. I met with 8 different people and was expected to go to lunch with an employee. Each interview was an hour and consisted of the Amazon employee reading questions off their computer and typing down every single word I said. A few of these interviews had "shadow interviewers." This means that they did not speak. Rather, they studied the interview and watched you while someone else asked the questions. Therefore, there would be two people on one in those interviews. This was super uncomfortable. There was never any eye contact made as the interviewer pounded on their keyboard the entire time. I was completely qualified for this role. However, when I was told I didn't get the job, I was provided no feedback, as it was against legal policy. The entire attitude and atmosphere of Amazon I found to be super elitist. I felt that they expected me to beg them to hire me. This was a complete turn off. Just because they are Amazon, doesn't mean that they cannot make the people they interview feel comfortable.
