Completely racist. I am highlighting a known problem - reference WSJ’s recently published update on discrimination in technology companies. Facebook and Google are waking up to it but Amazon is far behind. I went through the interview process twice (2015, 2017). The most senior technical managers highly recommended me but the ‘business’ all-white men panel of interviewers did not see me as a ‘cultural fit’. Sitting across from the interviewers, I saw similar educational and professional backgrounds. The only difference was my skin which is darker. I reported my observations to the HR but was met by the barricade of white women defending their white counterparts. I was the one who was humiliated by Amazon and it became worse when instead of listening to my concerns, the Amazonian HR slammed the door shut without any concern of accountability (aka the white privilege).
