I wanted to share my recent experience with the interview process at Company XYZ. While I initially had a positive interaction with the recruiter, my subsequent interviews left much to be desired. After a promising phone conversation with the recruiter and a Zoom call with the manager, I was hopeful about the opportunity. However, during the Zoom interview, it became apparent that the manager lacked familiarity with the position, and I found myself leading the discussion for the majority of the time. Following this, I was informed that I would be meeting with two IT techs, including the director. Unfortunately, I didn't hear back for about a week, prompting the recruiter reaching out to me. Despite his reassurance, the next step in the process was an on-site interview. Upon arrival, I was ushered into a room where only one IT tech and the manager were present for the interview. The IT techs questioning was vague, and it felt like I was carrying the conversation, with little engagement from their end. The overall atmosphere was standoffish and left me with a negative impression. Reflecting on this experience, I feel compelled to caution others. If you encounter a similar situation during your job search, consider it a red flag. Working in an environment where support and growth are hindered rather than encouraged can be detrimental. Trust me, it's not worth the toll it takes on your well-being.
