Candidates’ time should be respected. I spent over an hour interviewing with the hiring manager (well beyond the scheduled timeframe) and completed a 45-minute self-assessment beforehand, only to be told at the end of the interview that the position was already being offered to another candidate. This information should have been communicated much earlier in the process.
