OMG, where to begin? Read the job description for the position on their website. Read the background information on their website which consisted of about 2-3 paragraphs. Mostly generalized information rather than specifics about annual sales, history of the company and information on the management team.
I went in to interview for an Office Management position and interviewed with the senior leadership of the organization. I arrived about 20 minutes early just in case I needed to complete any other paper work in addition to the online application. Waited almost 20 minutes after my interview time to meet with the President of the company. After the introductions, the interview went down hill from there. The President had not previously read my resume or my online application. He then went right to the salary requirements before he said anything about the job. I gave him a range but that was not good enough. He stated that as a part of the office management team, I should already know what the job is worth! He spent the next 5 -10 minutes going over how someone on the office team should already know what the job is worth and what the job entails!! While he didn't raise his voice during this dissertation, he had this glazed eyes Charles Manson type of look. At this point, I thanked him for his time, shook his hand and exited out of the office and building without looking back.
