I worked with a headhunter. HR was not involved at all. There was a personality and math/english exam. Reminded me of the SAT. Had one phone screen and then 2 3 hour on site interviews with my future peers and my future boss. Once I received the offer, my boss called several times wiht information and support. Great process.
