Director reached out to me over email, forwarded me to recruiter w whom I had initial phone screen and chat about fit / past experience for web / javascript engineering role.
Was sent online coding assessment - they give half hour beyond expected time to breathe and review code, etc. It's straightforward - if you have even a year of experience it's very doable (and not the typical leetcode or algorithm-type questions).
After I complete the assessment, recruiter says I'm not moving forward - doesnt give specific feedback when asked.
Since assessment is graded on time (and other things)... submit as soon as you're done implementing and dont waste time commenting (like i did). To grade on time, but then also give generous extra time to breathe and take it easy... definitely mixed signals.
One perk of interviewing at startups is usually a human-first approach and good feedback - lacking here. Started out excited about the product, but ended feeling disappointed / unimpressed with the process. At least they move fast and dont waste your time.

Was contacted by an internal recruiter. First call was with the founder and was just a culture fit check. After that I was set up with a phone screen with an eng lead. We did a problem on coderpad which was to create a class that could be used to cache images and then implement LRU eviction strategy. After that I was sent 2 assignments to do on codility. The first one was leetcode easy and second was leetcode medium (theater seating). After that was a virtual onsite consisting of a roundtable intro, then another coding interview (on codility while screen sharing over zoom) then a system design interview, then cross functional interviews with design and product. I was rejected with no feedback but at least they were nice about it.
