      The recruiter and recruiting coordinator were both very friendly and communicative about the process. I also enjoyed their calendar app to book a call with the hiring manager. My experience turned somewhat negative when I had a phone call with the hiring manager. During the call, I felt as if he was not that interested in my background since the questions were not relevant to my experience or the role I was interviewing for. (Note: The role I interviewed for was spot on with my experience.) I think the question that caused me to be turned down was when he asked about what I was looking for in a career. One thing I mentioned was along the lines of how I was impressed with Affirm's Diversity and Inclusion focus groups and that I valued a multicultural workplace since it drives creativity in the workplace. This seemed to not be the answer he was looking for because when I asked him about what drew him to Affirm he said he was not interested in diversity and inclusion. This threw me off guard since Affirm actively boasts about their diversity and inclusion programs, and especially since there is still a tiny percentage of multi-cultural (especially Hispanic and African-American) employees at Affirm. Since I come from a multi-racial background, and the hiring manager was a white male I believe this could have been the deciding factor for whether or not he wanted to proceed with the interviewing process. However, I hope that's not the case. Overall it was a neutral experience for me and would have otherwise been positive if it wasn't for the untactful mannerisms of the HM. Judging by some of the other remarks here it seems that diversity is something that Affirm as a company boasts about to make themselves seem relevant, but the managers seem to be uninterested in actively recruiting those from minority backgrounds. Overall I'm glad it didn't work out since I would not have enjoyed working for someone with the HM's attitude.

      Applied and received call from recruiter 7 days after application. Initial phone interview scheduled with recruiter; second phone interview scheduled with hiring manager 4 days later. Next day received generic rejection email.
