Office manager called about a week after I submitted the application inviting me for an in person interview. We scheduled the interview two days after she called, and when I arrived at the scheduled time, nobody showed up. I rearranged my work day and took some unpaid time off to attend the interview, so after 15 minutes of waiting, I left. I told the person at the front desk that I have a job and am not going to waste my time waiting for someone who is disrespectful of my time in the first place. Her response was "okay" with no apology - super rude! I work at a front desk at a medical office myself, so I completely understand that emergencies arise. However, I did NOT receive a call or email before I left work asking if I could reschedule. The person who called to schedule the interview clearly knew that I am employed based on my resume, so there's really no excuse for her not to call or email me to reschedule. I sent a message on the practice website asking for compensation given that I took time off work. Based on the Yelp reviews I read, the main complaints were about the front desk staff. One of the front desk staff was on her phone when there were patients (and myself) around. I sometimes check my phone at work, but NEVER when patients are around. From my experience and the experiences' of others, I think it's safe to say I dodged a bullet.
