A recruiter screen followed by a live code test using Hackerrank, which I failed because didn't expect the LeetCode type questions for leadership roles. Totally my fault, I should have asked the recruiter for more details about the live coding interview.

Make sure you review tree and graph structures and are capable of explaining them in detail. Focus on different traversal modes.
Don't trust this company's technical recruiter!!!
Throughout the process, the company recruiter repeatedly assured me that I had received a verbal offer and that the only reason the formal offer was delayed was due to needing a signature from the manager. I asked him multiple times whether there was any risk that the offer could be withdrawn, and he explicitly told me “No.”
Based on this assurance, I declined another offer that had a better salary. However, after a full week of waiting, I was told that the team had decided to go with another candidate. This was extremely disappointing and frustrating, especially given the lack of transparency throughout the process. It felt like the delay was simply to buy time for the team to evaluate other candidates who were asking for a lower salary.
While I understand that a verbal offer is not legally binding and situations can change, it is not good practice for a recruiter to provide unrealistic guarantees, especially when such decisions impact a candidate’s career. Recruiting is also a reflection of your company’s values and image, and unfortunately, this experience left me with serious doubts.
I think the company need to to provide better training to their recruiting team, with a focus on honesty, transparency, and candidate respect.
