Employee referral was able to get me a phone interview. Entire interview process was guided by a very friendly and responsive Account Coordinator. Total process was about 1 month.
First phone interview lasted about 20 minutes. Very nice conversation, interviewer mostly talked about what games we like to play among other casual questions. Seems like the first phone interview was to see if my personality fit the job position and company culture. Soon after, I got another email from the Account Coordinator asking if I could come down to Santa Monica to meet a few members of the team for another interview. Between that time, I was requested to submit four in-game screenshots of any game of my choosing to talk about during the interview process. The purpose of this was for the four interviewers to talk to me about the capture artist process through these pictures I selected. I drove down to Activision-Blizzard HQ at Santa Monica, where I met four interviewers 1:1 for about twenty to thirty minutes each. Each person was very friendly and helpful, the interview process itself was very casual with some questions regarding professional experiences. After the interview process, I was able to take a quick tour of the HQ, which was very nice of them since I knew they were very busy at the time.
Outcome: About a week later I got an email from the Account Coordinator that said they appreciated my time but they weren't going forward with my application. When asked about feedback, they said my interview process went well but they decided to go with an applicant that had previous industry experience, which is something I didn't have at the time.
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience even if I didn't get the job. Everyone in the process was very professional and friendly. I would be more than happy to apply again in the near future.
