J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Activision Blizzard (Santa Monica, CA) en mars 2024
Entretien
Interviewer was uncomfortable interviewing, one could tell they were inexperienced and new to the role. The interview was pleasant enough, but did not feel very productive. The interview was described as being conversational, yet the interviewer was flummoxed when asked reciprocal questions.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
Basic questions about experience and applicability of experience.
My start date was delayed 4 months. I quitted my previous job and waited for all that time without pay, I thought I was getting scammed. My recruiter was great, the problem was the bureacracy of the company and the carelesness for my time.

I had assumptions from the start about this process because I was not screened at all.
The interview I was set up for felt like it was going to be with the purpose of ruling me out as a candidate and I felt like I walked into a room where there were unvalidated, preconceived notions of my experience based on little to nothing.
I was asked a couple soft questions about what I currently do and then my experience was effectively insulted after 15 minutes.
Now, there are differences between the role I was applying for and the role I currently hold. If the questions had been around that or how I would transition onto a team with different expectations around workflow, that would have been completely valid. I could think of about 5 questions right off the bat that would have created meaningful discourse around my experience and the role. That was clearly not the goal - I was not asked specifics about my work, about the differences in the role and my current role, or evaluated in any way against a competency bar.
I contacted the recruiter afterwards to let them know I was not interested. They contacted me 3 days later to let me know that they were not moving forward with me, but never acknowledging that I bowed out of the process. The recruiter offered to hop on another call and discuss opportunities. I was not interested because I am interviewing for external practice and honestly, this company concerns me with their interview process alone, not to mention all their other interpersonal issues. Yet, at the behest of my current manager, I agreed to have a call with the recruiter who then ghosted me, which I quite frankly expected.
I was prepared for because I know people who have transitioned to Activision and hate it and people who have also been ghosted or mistreated during the interview process; I also know people who were interviewed - only to be down leveled at the offer stage. People describe the interview process as "chill" and when I asked how they were evaluating Agile knowledge and craft competency, I was told they don't (which they clearly weren't in my interview).
