I applied to the position of an account coordinator 3 months ago and did not hear back for an interview until recently. The email stated it was a 20-30 min phone screening about my career goals. I had a phone call screening and it well and was told that I was going to be forwarded to the hiring manager . I followed up with the recruiter right after telling them I was excited for the next steps. I did not receive a second interview invite all week and I decided to email once again to see if there was any update. I went back to the job posting and it was taken down. I expected a rejection letter on Monday but got one on the weekend that the position has been filled. I would advise next time to update communication with the next person if they do not intend to interview in the second round accordingly.

I only completed the first round of the interview process, but the interviewer was extremely kind and made the experience smooth, simple, and very casual. Although I did not hear back afterward, it was still an overall pleasant experience.
