      Entretien

Extremely long and drawn out interview process, I spent roughly 15-20 hours total interviewing with this company. After an initial round with the recruiter, was advanced to an hour-long session with the hiring manager who didn't show up and instead was interviewed by his subordinate who seemed like he was notified seconds prior to conduct the interview. I then was given a coding challenge, which was initially estimated to take 2-4 hours and ultimately took closer to 8 hours and required significant computational resources. After submitting the initial coding challenge, I was given vague feedback by the recruiter who told me to reformat my solution in a different way, which I did and resubmitted. They seemed to be happy with that and advanced me to the final round of panel interview which was 8 hours and took up the entire day. Speaking to one of the hiring managers, they let me know that my coding assignment was not submitted correctly although the recruiter didn't give me any kind of feedback about it. They next group of folks that interviewed me didn't really know the format of the interview they walked in and said "So what are we supposed to do here, do you present something to us ?". And again the last interviewer was the hiring manager who ultimately showed up 20 minutes late to the interview and didn't really have interview questions to ask but instead went off on 15-minute tangents trying to find technical limitations to my previous projects or address certain technical challenges in my previous work rather than assessing my fitness for this particular role they were hiring for. Two days after all this I get a one sentence email from the recruiter saying "Due to the number of applicants they received they would not like to move forward with my application". Overall very confusing interview process and extremely drawn out. I was never directly told who my hiring manager would be, and who was making the determination to hire me for the position. The company seems cool and interesting but they need to seriously organize their hiring practices and get more aligned with one another. When I asked about performance reviews I got 4 different answers, the recruiter laughed and said you know we don't really have a performance review process since we are more like a startup (Mind you this company has been around for years). Other folks gave me detailed information about KPR's and quarterly performance reviews so wasn't really sure what that process looked like or if it truly existed. Overall would not recommend.
