      Entretien pour Content Design Manager

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez AbbVie en janv. 2025

      Entretien

A recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn based on my experience. We scheduled an initial interview call for that week, and the discussion went incredibly well and they wanted to schedule an interview with the hiring manager asap until we got to the number of days in office. The recruiter was confident going to the hiring manager because the accommodation request was due to a medical disability. For context, the office location would be about a 60-90 minute commute IF I were able to drive, and there are no public transit options that go out to their office location in North Chicago. My background met and exceeded their needs, the salary range was in line with my expectations and theirs, the opportunity was exactly what I was looking for, and I expressed a willingness to absorb the cost of a rideshare one to three times a month to be as flexible as possible with the on-site desire of the manager ($150-200 round trip each time). The recruiter let me know they would get back to me soon with a decision from the hiring manager. I followed up multiple times and heard nothing back. Having been told they wanted to do targeted recruitment and the role would not be posted on their site, I was only slightly surprised to look at their site after hearing no response and see the role posted. I'd looked a couple days after the call and it wasn't posted initially. I followed up again. It took some time but I received a general denial email which included: "After careful consideration, we have decided to move forward with another candidate whose qualification more closely align with the requirement of this position". No additional follow-up beyond that. Seems quite clear what that requirement was - a candidate without a medical disability that wouldn't require a reasonable accommodation. Must be that specific manager because Abbvie does regularly post fully remote opportunities for contract and FTE. I definitely dodged a poor experience with a manager that would have been just that, a manager rather than a leader, and a person that doesn't have room on a team for talent with a disability.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

I was asked about the maximum number of direct reports I've been responsible for, my management style, how I coach and develop team members, and about the technical tools used by the team.
