Talked to the hiring manager twice before having a half day presentation+interview with various teams. Pretty standard for PhD R&D. They offered me salary for PhD with 1-3 years “relevant” experience. I have 2.8 years post-PhD experience but I was in the military for four years, which they don’t view as relevant experience to my chagrin. I therefore declined the offer. They were very nice and seemed like they’d be great to work with but their salary offerings are pretty far below their competitors.
