I've been interviewed by AMC multiple times (the first time I was much younger, had no experience, pretty under-qualified despite my eagerness. But they were also interviewing 15-20 of us in the same room at the same time, which is really a bright idea). This time there were 6 of us and they got rid of two after ice breaker questions. They pulled each of us out for individual questions then had us pitch the stubs membership to each other. No idea how you get this job. Truly. Memorized the entire stubs program info, mentioned in person and in resume about my customer service experience/dealing with strangers on a daily basis, had 100% availability for the position, live close by, was friendly/positive, dressed in a casual but clean outfit, was the only one who asked questions while everyone else was quiet. No idea what else they could want in an employee. I guess you have to have something special in your blood instead of commitment and effort to get the job. They act like it's god's gift to be hired when really it's a minimum wage job, as if there aren't thousands just like it. Would also be nice if they sent a simple message saying you didn't get the position, even an automated one instead of being cowards with no apparent explanation why they didn't give you the job (there probably isn't one, they just like to look important by interviewing groups when really they already have who they want to hire in mind). Instead of group interviews they should REALLYYYYY limit their scope, since they really hire one person in a million. I know I'm done trying to get a job here even though it's my favorite theater. Loyalty, passion, and experience don't matter to them, you just have to be a cute, quirky cool kid and they'll drool over you. If you have a passion for movies like I do and wanna get your heart broken like me, go right ahead.
