The initial application is a lengthy online process with some short essay based questions to fill in and a multiple choice competency screening (I.e. Bob has a problem with a pineapple, how do you help?) I applied in October and didn't get called for an interview until January. From the initial 1:1 interview with the area manager the process took 2 weeks. I had the 1:1 where he asked some general questions about me, what I wanted from the role and the type of hours I could commit to. I then had an 'in store' assessment where I stacked some shelves for a few hours - during this time, the two managers on shift took it in turns to 'assist' and I assume interview: they were asking a LOT of questions about my degree and why I hadn't chosen a graduate role with Aldi and also kept telling me that the one piece of advice they'd have for anyone is that if you think you're going fast enough, you're not. About a week after this, I heard back online that I'd not been offered the job. Wasn't given any feedback as to why, but I suspect they didn't think I was quick enough with the wine and I was a potential flight risk (Aldi like a minimum 12 month commitment from employees).
