I was contacted by the company’s HR manager who informed me that she had selected my CV as it would be a good match for the full time Graduate Account Manager position. I was asked to come in to interview the next day and bring a copy of my cv. I did so, and arrived at a cramped ‘office’ in southwark the following day which had at least 10 other people waiting to interview. I arrived at the scheduled interview time ten minutes early , but was made to wait for 45 minutes before i was finally seen. The interview itself lasted less than ten minutes , where the M.D talked about his business heroes and i didn’t get a word in edgeways. My cv wasn’t even looked at and he didn’t ask me any questions about myself other than whether I thought i had the potential to be a mangager and if i had a good work ethic. Following this i received a phone call a few hours later saying i’d been selected to attend an observation day and to arrive at the office at nine the following morning. I did so , again arriving on time and again being made to wait 45 minutes to be seen. I was then put into a group of three and told to go with a team leader to observe the marketing and sales techniques in ththe field, we proceeded to take a bus to an area near elephant and castle. We were told to wait in a nearby mcdonald’s, and observe while filling out inane tasks like list 30 qualities of a good leader etc. All while watching the team leader attempt to get members of the public sign up to direct debits for a blindness charity. As the day dragged on all three of the other interviewees had left, I did the same after about three hours. I was told by the team leader while sat in mcdonald’s that it was completely commission based and was selling on the streets . Eventually rising through the ranks to open up your own office where you would hire people under you to do the exact same thing, While technically not a pyramid scheme,I didn’t want to be involved in a company that operated like this. While i wasn’t explicitly lied to at any point in the process, they were very vague about the position and the job title was very misleading. Let’s put it this way, if i’d taken the job i would’ve been a ‘graduate account manager’at a ‘marketing agency’ where in reality i would’ve been a street chugger on less than minimum wage. Wouldn’t recommend.

I applied and the very next day I received a call and an email to come to an interview the next day. All very fast paced and very forward. Almost too good to be true. However after reading reviews on this app I realised that the job description was very vague and this was in fact a glorified sales team. Didn’t matter what job title you applied for you would essentially be going out in the street and asking people to sign up for things. When I called to ask if this was essentially true the woman spoke at 140 words per second. Don’t be fooled.
