Entretien
The process started with a hiring manager screening (via telephone interview) followed by a live software demo (trial license provided) with a given scenario and datasets to present. Additionally, slide deck and pitch to set the scene. The interview was concluded by a q&a session where a team of peers asked scientific questions.
Multiple round interviews including a phone interview, a technical presentation over video chat and then a follow up in person interview. I would say these increased in difficulty from interview 1 to 3.

Overall I felt the interview process for this position was too involved and misleading. The first round was a phone interview (30 mins) asking technical and motivational questions which was not too difficult. Upon passing this stage, I was then required to give a 45 minute presentation concerning company software to a panel over Zoom and answering questions that could come up during the job. At this point I was given a strong impression that I was to be offered the job - they phoned me back asking for references and said they wanted me to meet them in person to discuss how the role would be set up. This turned out to be really misleading - it was another 1h formal interview and wasn't how they described it at all. The interviewers had placed a huge emphasis on internal communication being key for the role, yet this did not seem to be adhered to in practice, as I was asked several questions I had already answered from the previous stages and my answers got a poorer reception in the final stage. They didn't bother contacting me afterwards - I had to push for feedback which was very brief and generic (‘someone else had more experience’) and came through my recruiter which was disappointing given the time and effort I had invested. To expect interviewees to jump through hoops for so long and then not bother to even give them useful feedback is very poor.
