The process took about a week. I had two round of interviews, then, I was given a home assignment, which I found quite interesting. They sent me a Figma file to recreate with pixel-perfect accuracy. I went a step further by implementing virtualization, which wasn’t requested but seemed necessary due to the large number of paragraphs. Despite my efforts, I was rejected for not including a loading state (which wasn’t in the Figma file) and supposedly not handling errors properly, even though I had wrapped the API call in a try-catch block and was logging errors to the console. I shared these details, but it took 10 days to respond, only to repeat the same reasons from the initial rejection. Instead of passing the task on for a second review, they seemed unwilling to reconsider. It felt disheartening, especially after hearing so many positive things about the company. I’m left questioning their honesty throughout the process.
