They called me in heavily implying from the start they would give me work and did not ask any questions about me or my skills and experience, instead spending most of the interview telling me about the company, claiming it was built around "love" for people and was a work environment where all employees were thought of as friends. The only questions asked were whether I could uphold company values and perform all tasks. They then told me to come in for an 8-hour training session the next week, which they did not even send me the details for until the day just before. The training was mostly again learning about the company's beginnings but also some register and bar training, and they had me fill out all the paperwork, clearly stating they would send a follow-up email to all trainees within a few days about next steps. They did not send me this email, or even one telling me I was not hired, and just ghosted, after having me spend an entire day on the training and filling out all the paperwork acting like I was already hired. I did not behave in any way that would raise red flags, I treated everyone with respect and gave the presenters my full attention. I even have previous experience as a barista and did just as well as the other trainees on bar. I think this response from them may have something to do with my race, I am Indian.
