      Entretien

A lengthy interview process including 5 stages (including x2 video calls, a psychometric test, a presentation/ case study and meeting with the Founder). I had to keep asking for an update and feedback after each stage in order to move it along. I finally received an offer, which I verbally accepted and we agreed that I would sign the employment contract a few days later (after I had the chance to resign with my current employer who was on holiday at the time). Some circumstances changed for me at home which led me to ask for the 'possibility' of flexibility around working hours or perhaps 1 day working from home (also I was made aware at interview that there are a few people at the company who currently work remotely). Then out of the blue(!) an hour later, the company retracted/voided of my contract of employment and they gave the reason that they thought that I would be able to sign the contract straight away (even though we had both agreed that I would sign a few days later and this was acknowledged) - so this was a complete lie! It is obvious that they retracted/ voided the employment contract just because I made the flexible working request (which is in fact an employment right!). In fact, I'm still waiting for a response to this request. All they had to do was respond to explain that they could not accommodate my request, then I would have made other arrangements to make it work and join the business as planned. But I'm glad the company showed me their true colours at the beginning and it's clear that my values of honesty and integrity does not align with theirs... so it's truly a bullet dodged! Even more so, given the recent negative employee reviews they have received which implies they need a huge overhaul at the leadership level.
