The Technician CLD supports the development of processes and/or the analysis for the manufacturing of recombinant proteins with CHO cultures by executing experiments, preparing materials, and collecting data.

Conduct experiments and apply standard laboratory practices under moderate guidance and supervision within scope and timelines

Document executed work in accordance to internal guidelines

Support troubleshooting activities in collaboration with Subject Matter Expert

Document batch results with a critical mind

Write protocols, SOPs, using available templates

Drive simple initiatives (in relation to job duties) with limited guidance and supervision within your team/group

Support technology transfer activities if needed

Follow all EHS procedures and laboratory safety standards, maintain a clean and safe workspace, and promptly report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses
Cell Line Development (CLD) technical skills:

Gene synthesis, vector cloning, plasmid purification, sequencing, agarose gel electrophoresis

Plasmid design software (e.g., vector mapping and annotation tools)

Transfection techniques and clone selection workflows; Clonality assessment (e.g. FACSAria, FACSLyric, Single cell printing (VIPS), Cellmetric)

Expansion and cryopreservation of cell lines
-
Small-scale bioreactor systems used in early screening (e.g., Ambr15, Breez)
-
E.coli culture, CHO cell suspension culture
Other desirable technical skills: Cell culture expansion in shake flasks, wave bags, and benchtop bioreactors, use of single-use bioreactors at laboratory and pilot scale, Monitoring and control of critical culture parameters (e.g., pH, DO, temperature, agitation, feeding), Routine sampling for cell growth and metabolic profiling, Basic troubleshooting and maintenance of bioreactor and support systems
