United offers a singular opportunity for someone who doesn't need their hand held to learn a lot about business. They are well managed from a strategic level. As with most firms that are not in the top "50 greatest places to work", you will witness the good, the bad, and the ugly. More good than bad and most of us are ugly. Take the plunge. Each region and district are ran independant. They have their own goals and strategies. Do your research and make sure you understand the type of managers you will be working for.
