Avantages
Generous employee discount, made some very good friends working at TCS, limited benefits for part-time, more formal training than other retail stores
Inconvénients
*High turnover in our store with very little room for advancement especially if you're part-time. *Full-time employees and store managers that have left the company while I've been here have all been replaced from the outside. *Full-time employees have input in part-time reviews but not vice-versa. *Ever since the company went public it is ALL ABOUT THE NUMBERS--even if you are one of the top performers it is never enough; if you're an elfa designer there is even more pressure with numbers to hit a minimum dollar amount for master closets, % of same-day closes, % of spaces sold compared to your total , % of sales installed by elfa Installation; if the customer wants to think about it and purchase another day when you're not working you get no credit for the sale; however, elfa sales numbers are a part of your review and it does have an impact on your raise. *Closing shifts require cleaning and getting the store ready for the next day--part-timers usually get to clean the restrooms. *We used to be chastised if we didn't meet certain goals for obtaining email addresses; now it has changed to signing up people for a new perk (be sure not to say "rewards" or "loyalty") program using new tablets; the new tablets do not allow you to simultaneously ring up sales at the register while they sign up--this has translated to longer lines and angry customers. *Managers are too often behind closed doors in a meeting or on a conference call. *Computers/registers & tablets go down regularly.
