      Job security: Following a lot of layoffs, job security is not the best and you can still get laid off out of the blue. Hard to measure impact: lots of marketing team working on different things/markets/products: sometimes hard to measure your real impact

      Remote first culture. If you want freedom of location and a company to truly mean and support it - this is the place.

      Inconvénients

      Constant change. Nothing to hold on to in this role, compensation, KPI's, tools all change every quarter.

      Avantages

      Legacy Shopify ICs and lower-level managers are excellent and generally quite nice (company's Canadian after all) Caliber of engineering talent is generally high Dev-friendly stack (Ruby/Rails) Bleeding-edge AI adoption with unlimited token budget

      Inconvénients

      Recently brought over a CTO from Microsoft: he brought with him a lot of not-at-all-nice people who are highly political, frequently rude/condescending to legacy Shopifolk, and make consistently bad/dev-hostile technical decisions Bleeding-edge AI adoption is being used to justify unreasonably increased expectations
