Avantages

You can gain lots of knowledge working remotely in a complex network. Until certain extent, you can take ownership of your role. Good office environment at the HQ in Canada and great people to work and/or talk with, even if they are not on your team. I will miss this company greatly.

Inconvénients

Paraphrasing what I was told: "most times they appoint the wrong person as a leader". This could transfer to your career path within the company. The pro comment about ownership can be taken away little by little just because of another person's personal interest and emotional-driven. All depends who you report to.

Avantages

Work–life balance is actually respected. Most managers honor boundaries, don’t expect late-night firefighting as the norm, and are fine with you taking time off when you need it. Solid parental leave. The parental leave policy is extremely generous compared to a lot of places in the industry, and leadership is generally supportive of people actually using it. Interesting, challenging work. Plenty of chances to solve real problems, not just busywork. If you’re proactive, you can own projects and grow your skill set. Good benefits package. Healthcare, 401(k), and time off are competitive, and HR does a decent job of making the options clear. Smart coworkers who care. A lot of sharp people who genuinely want to do the right thing for customers and the business, which makes collaboration worthwhile when it works.

Inconvénients

Communication needs improvement. Priorities and decisions don’t always flow clearly from leadership to the teams doing the work, which leads to confusion and rework. Too many silos. Teams tend to operate in their own lane, and cross-functional collaboration can be painful. Information gets stuck instead of shared.
