We do want to address the tip pool concern directly, as we understand it's an important topic. RDG's tip structures are carefully designed to be compliant, transparent, and equitable. It's worth clarifying that traditional managers do not participate in the tip pool. However, certain guest-facing roles — who are actively and directly involved in the guest experience — do participate, as is both legal and common practice in high-end hospitality operations. As a Food Runner, I enjoy working in a fast-paced environment that keeps me active and helps me improve my multitasking skills. I appreciate the teamwork involved, as I work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and managers to ensure excellent service. The position also allows me to interact with guests and contribute to a positive dining experience. Additionally, I have gained valuable knowledge about food, menu items, and restaurant operations. Finally, this role has helped me develop important skills such as communication, time management, organization, and problem-solving, which support my professional growth.

Inconvénients

One challenge of working as a Food Runner is the physically demanding nature of the job, which requires being on my feet for long periods and carrying heavy trays throughout the shift. Another challenge is the fast-paced environment during busy hours, which can be stressful and requires strong multitasking and time-management skills to ensure guests receive their food promptly.
