Avantages
They promised me a lot … nice salary bump, decent size bonus, unlimited PTO, ability to advance my position in the company when goals are met, work/life balance, great culture, etc, etc. Do NOT fall for their traps! They are all LIES, LIES, and more LIES! I was laid off at the exact same time I was supposed to receive my bonus and salary increase. I had met all previously agreed upon goals (which were constantly changing like dangling a carrot in front of a horse), but I still met them. I walked away so distraught because I worked so incredibly hard for this company (work/life balance is a joke unless you’re an intern). It was just too convenient for them to lay me off without a reason, as I walked away with no bonus and my head spinning as I was in literal shock that they did this to me. I’m not alone though. They screw over each and every one of their employees, except for a select aforementioned clique also known as “the (little) boys club.” If you are thinking of working here, do yourself a huge favor and run away as fast as you possibly can. If you don’t listen to the advice of the many reviews on Glassdoor, and you do end up interviewing, they’ll pull as many ideas from you as they can, and oftentimes not hire you but still implement your ideas. No wonder the interview process is so … “different.” They use and abuse people from the second you come in contact with upper management. As you can probably tell this point, there are no pros to working here. The said perks are all a facade.
Inconvénients
There are too many to list all, but just to give you a quick preview of what to expect: - Inexperienced upper management who should NEVER be in a leadership role, EVER. - Lack of clear communication across teams, managers and company wide. Who is in charge? Who do we listen to? Why are there conflicting directions? Isn’t there a better, smarter, and more streamlined way to do this? Are we doing the right thing (sometimes even morally)? - A swinging pendulum of ever changing decisions that make no practical business sense - If any upper management are challenged, you are immediately scowled at and written off (and probably put on the “next up to layoff list” - Upper management are outwardly gossipy, have unruly and oftentimes scary mood swings, shout expletives, make derogatory remarks constantly, and encourage a culture that feels like an investment bank, not a tech company - Which leads me to state the WARNING, this is NOT a tech company … they’re not quite sure what they are or where they are headed, but they sure have fooled their investors and people looking from the outside in - Most female workers are not taken seriously, definitely not heard, and many are hired for their looks. The glass ceiling is alive and thriving here. - Unforeseen layoffs … so many layoffs … they’ve churned through hundreds and hundreds of good employees - Turnover - any truly smart person that has any sense of self worth will not last long here and find work elsewhere ASAP. And because of this, more and more work will get dumped on you and suddenly added to your “goals”. Good luck meeting them. - Work/Life Balance - they tell you you will have it, but when you are expected to be available from sunrise into all hours of the night. You’ll soon realize this does not exist here. And if you attempt to have it, don’t expect to have your job long.
