Avantages

It was an amazing experience working at Raleigh Diamond. I have previously worked for companies where my “voice” was rarely heard but with Raleigh Diamond being local and family owned it was quite the opposite. The owner really puts his heart in the business and it truly shows. I am thankful I got to work side by side with him every day. I learned a plethora of skills that really helped build my overall career. From learning how to close a deal, the ins and outs of sales, building client relationships, and most importantly - thinking on my feet. I know it sounds corny but honestly it felt like we were all a family at Raleigh Diamond. It was very comforting to work with such a caring team. To top it off the, the benefits are great and the business even provides complimentary education in the jewelry industry.

Inconvénients

I honestly can not think of any cons...

This store is HUGE and stunning, however, it is a locally owned and operated business. The owner is there almost every day and he takes great pride in his business. He cares about how it is run and is mindful of the caliber of people and merchandise in the store. The employees there are AMAZING. The comradery amongst the floor staff is unmatched by any other job I've had. There are set rules for commission, and so arguments are few and far between. The employees help each other out, answer questions, alleviate stress, and truly care about each other. There are many opportunities for staff to receive bonuses and cash and jewelry from management and vendors. In addition, there is also a fantastic health/dental/eye plan available for full time staff. There is a stocked break room with coffee machine, and the owner and employees very frequently bring donuts and pizza and other treats to share. One of the biggest advantages of working here is that it is a stand-alone store, so unlike mall stores, you don't have "lookie loos". Most of your day is spent with VALID customers who actually want to follow through with a purchase. The employees typically have a 50%+ closing rate with their customers. The store caters to all walks of life, offering merchandise from $20 up to $100,000. There is something for everyone here. They also have an amazing mixture of "fad/designer" pieces and traditional and estate jewelry, meaning you will love their jewelry no matter what your taste is. The owner is also very involved in the community and charitable giving. He even pays for the employees to be able to attend charity balls and events. The store is constantly donating to numerous organizations and endeavors. This definitely instills a sense of pride for one's workplace. Overall, I got a lot out of working there- lasting friendships, gorgeous jewelry, increased confidence, and more.

Inconvénients

There are some very specific rules that need to be followed, as it is a high-value store, but that is to be expected. There are no crazy corporate rules made by people who don't even know how the store runs. The rules are all made by management who are there every day. It can be hard for some new staff to keep up with all the rules, but you get used to it. Mistakes can be disastrous in this industry, so they are not taken lightly. But if you follow the rules and double check things with senior staff/management, you'll be fine.

There's a lot of pros! I enjoyed my time at Raleigh Diamond and all the people there. I worked there for a little less than a year, holding a creative position that combined a few roles together. I was able to learn a lot, contribute a lot and grow a lot with the company. - Family atmosphere. - Welcoming and helpful team. Healthy, enjoyable and fun work environment. - GIA education paid by the owner. - Flexible scheduling. I had to be flexible with my college and change my schedule many times. Management was always accommodating. - No early mornings or late nights (9am the earliest, 8pm the latest) - Management listens to individual's expertise and suggestions, very pleasant to work with on creative projects. - Opportunity to wear many hats and learn many skills. - Good pay with commission.

Inconvénients

Can't think of one. It's a great place to work at :)
