Avantages
They give you a paycheck and you can pretty much take days off whenever as long as you call. If work is slow, they will find a way to get you a paycheck (warehouse work, etc.).
Inconvénients
Sporadic hours/schedule but that's a part of the industry (sometimes also due to those in the office making the schedule). The pay is not good, nor are there any good benefits (no 401k, etc.). There is no real training if you start from 0. You are sent into the field immediately and told to learn on the job. The company vehicles are terrible-the trucks constantly break down and the lift gates on the bigger trucks are in disrepair and have needed to be replaced. The owner is very standoffish and it doesn't seem like he really cares about his employees as much as the jobs. There's no incentive for projects to be completed early/efficiently as there are no bonuses (barring the end of year bonus which is minuscule relative to how much work is done in the year). Some of the jobs are extremely labor intensive (think multiple full 56' truck loads in the heat of summer and dead of winter). All in all, I don't recommend working here unless you need a paycheck.
