Avantages

1) The Web Sites. It's wonderful to feel like you are working for a company that makes great products 2) The People/Culture. A great mix of young and experienced employees who enjoy working with each other. Everyone works very hard, but there isn't a lot of competition or griping, which I've seen at other companies. Co-workers are very supportive and helpful. Most people talk to the security and facilities staff on a regular basis, acknowledging their contributions. Also, a good work life balance is strongly supported, with many employees working from home part of the week, or working flexible hours, or being actively encouraged to take a vacation to use up their PTO days and qualify for the bonus week. 3) The Benefits. It's been said many times before, but the CBS Interactive benefits are great (let's hope they keep them!), with Third Thursday all company mixers, management + life classes ranging from how to be a better manager to buying your first home, guest speakers including big wigs, volunteer opportunities organized by HR, a bonus week of vacation if you take at least half your vacation in the prior year, employee discounts with local business, plus the standard good insurance and 401(k) match.

Inconvénients

1) The Pay. Overall, most people state that it is on the low side of salary curve. 2) Senior Management Holes. CBS Interactive recently purchased CNET Networks. There is a strong impression that senior management is still trying to figure out what to do with the combined company, leaving the rank & file to wander a bit aimlessly. 3) Minimal Career Guidance / Advancement Paths. If you want to advance in your career, you need to figure out how to make that happen yourself. Aside from progressing from an entry level position to one that requires just a year of experience, it's not easy to find a way to be promoted. 4) Unpredictable Corporate Communication. Multiple corporate communications may come out in one week for a volunteer opportunity, and yet almost nothing is mentioned about major changes to the business. The relative silence and chattiness is disconcerting.

Avantages

People who were at Paramount before the Skydance merger remain talented and amazing people.

Inconvénients

The post-Skydance merger Paramount is an aimless corporate with zero resources, and respect for existing employees. Senior management are coming from Disney, and they’re hiring all their previous Disney colleagues, while laying off employees that have been at Paramount through ages. There has also been a shift in demographics where White men control the power. It’s disheartening to see amazing legacy leadership get demoted and sidelined in favor of incoming White male leaders from Disney. The new senior management will say things like, “We want to invest in people that will stay with us and grow,” yet layoff an entire division that have kept this company running through all the transitions. The disrespect is just ridiculous.
