Avantages
A pretty good number PTOs after one year of working here. Overall benefits are decent. Strict office hours makes it ok to leave early. (5.30pm) The company has money, so some can find budget to do stuff. Smart people.
Inconvénients
You're not working on any real products and you don't have any real customers. The overall vision and goal for the lab is not made clear by management. A lot of internal politics, between here and the French offices, as well as between groups here too, which is scary. Projects actually survive depending on what management likes but also who is involved in the US and in France. Strict office hours. (can be a constraint) Bonus system is opaque and convoluted. (your actual performance doesn't actually influence your bonus much compared to seniority and other mysterious things that management and HR decide) It seems that a lot of people have been here a long long time and are just content with the situation, knowing how to navigate the internals of the company.
