Avantages

Technical Community : The best thing about OT for technical staff is the culture of sharing and helping of the internal technical community. This small town helpfulness has been retained despite the cons of rapid growth and has become an entrenched characteristic that makes OT as good a place to work as it is. Mobility : Offices in CA, US, UK, DE, CH, AU and elsewhere are not just sales/admin offices, but also contain quite a lot of services and through acquisitions, some dev and support as well. It is definitely possible to start in one office and travel to other countries with OT. This is one huge benefit of growth that is hard to find in smaller companies.

Inconvénients

Reorgs : Major reorganizations may happen as much as twice per year. These disrupt teams who have become cohesive and efficient. Layoffs : Growth by acquisition sometimes results in layoffs that appear to be designed to not take into account the performance and value of the individuals who are laid off. This causes problems in filling gaps and could lead to an unintended dilution of talent.

Avantages

Pros was that you had a job (and not for long if they find a way to outsource your position in the company).

Inconvénients

Cons are so many to list, but from the leadership in this company being so out of touch with his/her employees, the restructuring done in their company to save some bucks on their end was crazy brutal, firing all of their talented workers to implement automated programs that did not function properly. Overall, horrible experience with OpenText, lies upon lies when it came to growth opportunities and keeping teams in the dark, no communication what so ever. Their business practices were just plain terrible.
